What makes a pianist "the best"? I think that glenn's passion for bach is something you either can or cannot reflect it on yourself. I listened to a lot of pianists. Glenn 's way of playing bach, his passion as a pianist touches me more than words can say. Thanks for posting this video.

I agree, to say that a professional pianist is a better performer of romantic music than Gould is not saying much. Gould could be one of the worst (of professionals of course). But he is a spectacular Bach performer.

i am totally agree with u, and i think Glenn Gould can't play Beethoven or chopin, but he is the best Bach performer ever.

gould is still the only classical musician worth a damn, as far as playing striaght forward enough to not be a total cheese ass. anyone who disagrees can go eat some cheeze.

Oh, isn't this that guy who claims to hear Bach's voice? He talks and sings as he plays, and has the best interperetation of Bach of all.
