I like the emotion of the McLaughlin version, but the matter of fact way (like Halliday) that Brighton sings it seems to get to that "last stage" of events leading to this point where you have already cried, screamed, and everything else, only to come to acceptance of this particular outcome. Plus you can hear every lyric unlike the more emotional versions. I do like all the versions though.

Have u heard Diamanda Galas version? that woman is a freak, but really get´s the meaning of the song. I believe that she is going to suicide, but Sarah Brightman sounds like a sinthetizer, the note is perfect, but the soul is not there!
