Oh thats cool. I have been running the new puma 300. i cant believe how smooth it runs. you dont even hear the turrent index, hell you can barley hear it when it rapids to the face of the part. its a beaituful machine.

The shop I work at has a Doosan Puma 300 from 1999. They are nice machines. I wouldn't mind having one for myself. I think Haas' are good machines as long as they aren't pushed past their limits. My shop has 2 Haas HMC's and 1 VMC and the HMC's are always breaking down. We machine 900 pound tank castings in the HMC's and just about all the limit switches are overrided. I just think our shop should have got heavier duty machines for the jobs they run on the HMC's.

its a lot worse seeing someone try to whittle a 1.5" shank on a 6" round taking .05 a whack.if you can hold tolerance and make it shine, the only other factor is time.

What junk.

Has anyone ran the new Doosan Lynx 220 or Puma 300? Thoes are some nice machines. The only thing that i find wrong is that the chip convays get clogged way to easily.

The shop I work for has a haas SL30 the biggest problem it has is the hydraulic pump keeps going out, we also have vmc's all are haas, more problems than the old fadal vmc we used to have. as far as the lathe is concerned our old hwacheon built in March 1996 is more reliable except high miles is catching up with it.(it has been pushed harder than it should have, according to our maint dept the old worn hwacheon is more reliable than the haas SL30.

The bar feeder or the machine? The bar feeders are about $18K. Machine is $45+ depending on the options.
