It sure would be nice if the politicians and voters of this country would stop worrying so much about attacking each other and concentrate more on actually changing things for the better. The fact that most people assume that disagreeing with them makes a person a moron is sickening. Come on, if you want to attack a politician for something, do it based on job performance, not whether or not you like his or her personality.

Yea, we all make mistakes, and joke about things you shouldn't joke about. But when you are as high of an official in our government and represent hundreds of people you need to not joke about those kinds of things. If he really needs to joke about that kind of stuff then i think he should step down so the hundreds he represents can actually feel proud of who they voted for.

Amen. Let's look at this from a holistic perspective. Does he really represent democrats? If dems have to accept this is their party representation, then GOP has to accept the blood on Bush's hands for Iraq as their representation. Fair? Didn't think so asshole.

I'm a Democat who will be happy to disavow these comments. I know Don Fowler and can't believe he was so stupid. He's actually a smart man who knows better. This proves once again that the party people are too partisan -- you can't look at everything in life through that prism. When you look at a natural disaster as a partisan event, you've gone over the edge. God bless you, Louisiana.

They are joking around. Who cares? Can anyone claim to have never joked in a way that would offend someone or be perceived as cruel? I proudly admit that I can't, so why don't those of you salivating over this pull the stick out of you rectum and go take a look in the mirror before casting stones. As a liberal I am an equal opportunity offender, no one is safe as far as I am concerned.

Leave it to the Dems and the whacko Michael Moore. If that had been a Republican, God forbid, Obama would come off his throne and hurl fire.

Of course, Governor Blanco could have done something other than nothing. I remember seeing all those buses that could have transported people out of there, but nope, there they sat up to their roofs in water. She knew Katrina was a Cat 5 storm two days before it hit. She knew that Katrina killed 11 people in Florida as a Cat 1 storm. She did nothing. Then she blamed Bush and Mayor Nagin. No blame for herself. Bush could have done more sooner, but the ultimate responsibility was hers.

so it's okay for republicans and religious leaders to damn and make insensitive jokes (jerry falwell, swift boat veterans) but when a democrat does it, "let's burn him at the stake" ..look at what you're shoveling.don't point fingers when you're hands are dirty. |
