I was at this concert in '69---freekin' amazing! Nothing like it has been or ever will be again! Poor Janis was miserably over looked and one of the best female blues singers ever. As far as her being high---we ALL were!! I think however, the studio version of "this" song was the better.

Worst performance? Her voice is freakin amazing, and no one should criticize this performance. Despite that she was high, I can hear ALL of her emotions in her voice here. Rock on Janis. Rest in peace.

Thanks, looking forward to the story. Peace!

totally agree Kosmic...what is wrong with this performance?...outside of it's just a Janis performance...and you're right about the double standard...Keith Moon was constantly a wreck...Jimi...Jim...I've always felt that because Janis wasn't "pretty"...she has always been shoved off to the side...my god there has not been anyone like her since...I'm going to follow this up with a little business trip story that I think you'll find amusing...it's so fucking funny..but I agree with your post 100%

I read it was because of how drunk and high she was at this performance, it was called, "her worst performance ever". Personally, I think "they" were dead wrong. Her being overlooked in many arenas is a travesty. Double standard in action. No one ever called Jim Morrison a slut. No one ever criticized Jimi Hendrix for being too high for a performance. No one ever said that either of these men were "miserable" and their personal lives put on display for the world to see. She was robbed. Peace.

i could listen to since ive been loving you all day...i have one of the extended live versions that is probably the best thing i have from them

Maybe because she performed 5 songs at Monterrey during the DAY! This performance was at midnight and this was her 10th song. A little common sense goes a long way...

Arguably the greatest R&B female performer ever why was she overlooked and not featured on the triple and double albums that were released.Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think there were any of her tracks on them

she looked a lot healthier in monteray
