Yeah indeed, it was in the Tokyo Dome (or the Egg Dome, as some here in America used to call it). I'm not sure of the date, but I think it was February of 1990.

Not to be a schmuck or anything, was this in the Tokyo Dome?

You're talking crap you know nothing about Vader wrestled almost 7 more years after this match. WCW didn't really exist yet, it was still NWA/WCW on the ring aprons, started doesn't mean organized it can mean inspired. we all get influenced by things we see. learn reading comprehension, son! ...an don't bug me no more!

Vader probably thought his eye was messed up and his career was over anyway, so he figured he'd go out with a bang in one of the stiffest matches in wrestling history.

It didn't start UWFi shoot wrestling either.. Takada and a few other wrestlers from the UWF promotion in the 80s started that, although Vader was a part of the promotion.

This was a stiffer match than what you usually see, where the wrestlers actually connect with their punches more, but it wasn't a shoot.. a shoot is when the wrestlers are legit mad at each other and actually start fighting during the match. Vader and Hansen both agreed to work stiff in this match to make it more brutal.

Maybe this is why Vader switched to his famous "jock strap" mask, cuz if he was wearing it here, it would've been easier to take off without no risk of messing his eyeball up. |
