its just an infant clover he fell from space and hatched and is really crying for its parents and those are parasites that fell of him/her i seen the documentary...

Well during the last scene when the bombs start dropping, and the bridge collaspes, with Beth on fire from the nuke, you can hear 2 diffrent monsters screaming in pain. One sounds close the other one seems farther away, but when u slow down the explosion part of the last scene you can see Beth burning!

ALTHOUGH on the DVD special features, they make it pretty clear that there is only one monster. They could just be hiding it though. :)

The first Monster (the one seen stomping around in the city) Does look MUCH bigger than the one that ate Hud. And when you look at the scene where Hud is eaten, when you see his legs dangling from the monsters mouth and compare the size (between the two monsters) there is a HUGE difference.

It was apparent that there were two monsters right when the movie came out. I watched it many times on bootleg, and I was fascinated with Abrams' work with the viral videos and the massive online community's thirst for more knowledge on the film. After thinking about it for a while, I realized that there were two monsters.

The first monster you see is the one that destroys the building when the group first steps out into the street and Hud sees it crossing in between buildings. Not long into the movie after that, the bridge that they travel on is destroyed bythe tail of the monster. But, this has to be a different monster!

If you listen (its not that hard to hear) you can hear something large coming out of the water, a large wooossshhhh sound occurs. Then the tail appears and you can see that its dripping! Now, how would the first monster (the one in the city) sink BACK into the ocean, and then come back up just to destroy that brdige? There were helicopters above the bridge telling them things like 'Do not stop. Keep moving.' In calm voices.

These helipcopters would have seen the monster go back into the ocean. Of course there are 2. Oh and another thing. When Hud gets attacked by the monster, they pick the camera up and start running right? Well, they didn't run all that far to that bridge in central park where they both died, meaning that the monster that attacked Hud would be pretty close, but not too close to pose more of a threat than the bombs. |
