His only mistake he made, in my opinion, is that he was sure that he would reach his happiness alone. Only in the end he understood that "happiness is real only when shared".

Do whatever you truly feel you must. I'm 32 and I have many regrets about things I've let pass me by, things I can no longer do as my youth fades and I inch closer to the stamp of marrriage, children, and mortage that society places upon us. Allow your inner compass to guide you to where ever it is you must go.

Great song, great movie. When I was younger I dreamt about searching adventure and go into the wild on my own, like McCandless did. I don't think that that would have made me happier though, but I still dream about going away and try to find freedom (though I'd prefer that my girlfriend comes with me). Now I'm 25 and everybody's expecting you to do a career and spend most of your time awake doing a job to get money to buy stuff or something, Eddie's right society is f*cking crazy! |
