My my, assumption after assumption. Its fair to say your one of those guys who fires first and thinks later. As for comparing Kaku, Kurzweil and no doubt any other keen scientific voice to racially motivated facists...well that kinda says it all really. Your a complete ignoramus. No one you've mentioned is dictating how people should live in the future, but opening possibilites for the human species. Its people like you who seem hell bent on dominating self-righteousness. James Gray would weep

I see so because two power hungry dictators worped scientific understanding for their own benefit, than all of science must be held accountable. Wow. By that logic because Osama Bin Laden professes being a muslim ALL of Islam simply must be made up of terrorist maniacs. Yeh i can see were your going and no i don't agree. Furthermore perhaps i should remind you that most western democracies have at one time or another experimented with Eugenic progs without the sick nazi mentality used by Hitler

Again a saying moulded by evolutionary forces form our bygone past. Once again you make a massive assumption in its applicability. You really don't seem to be able to break free of this do you.

Yes we all love Animatrix, but if you actually watched it properly you will see that the AI and other cybernetic organisms struggled for equality and understanding for a long time before human aggression forced them to act. So in that sense we were to blame, not because AI are inherently EVIL. And perhaps quoting me sci-fi scenarios is'nt quite the way to prove anything, unless you want to tell me 'independence day' proves that all aliens are hostile.

I think Ray Kurzweil is one of the best people in the world. He has an unprecedented 15 honorary degrees, all from different universities. He has very contrasted and complex levels of knowledge of not just humans and machines but on nutrition and has since maintained an almost perfect lifestyle as he has become obsessed with heightening his odds to see the day that he is constantly predicting.

not to disrupt this fascinating (and entertaining) conversation but did you just cite the animatrix as a source... really?? What is he supposed to do counter back with blade runner?

BTW- You know nothing about Futurism. It started as an artistic movement in the 1910's formed out of Nietzsche's cult of the Superman, which proposed extreme violence as a means to supress that which is ugly. Kaku, Kurzweil, Mussolini, Hitler, these guys are nuts and so are you if you believe in this scientific equivalent of Islamic extremism.
SJamesGray (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
I was moreso referenceing the Transhumanistic roots in Eugenics, which Hitler and Mussolini's futurism fell upon as a means to advance their goals.

And that which can not be tamed is either killed or the killer. Also referenced quite succinctly in The Second Renaissance
