The late great Peggy Lee, a favorite of mine (I'm a huge Jazz fan). Peggy was a singer in The Benny Goodman Orchestra before going solo. You may also know her as the voice of the Siamese Cats in Disneys 'Lady and The Tramp.'

You'll have to induct Peggy too, because she wrote half of the lyrics heard here, although she was never officially credited with them. All the stuff about Romeo and Juliet, Captain Smith and Pocahontas. She also came up with the spare, bass, drums and finger snaps arrangement.

Classy. Sexy. Smooth as silk. Oddly enough, my little sis & I found our mother's Peggy Lee album when we were little. We made up whole routines & had a blast playing around in our basement, listening to our parents' music & dancing with abandon! Good times.

Eddie Cooley and "John Davenport" are hereby inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in my book. Absolutely love it.
