yeah i almost forgot, a Wikipedia entry showed that only WOR-TV and KHJ-TV are using different versions of the national anthem.

The US Army Band version of the Anthem was also used by the 1984 and 1996 Olympics whenever our athletes won gold. It's the best version ever played.

P.S. I was also thinking of KHJ-TV's 1982 use of Ray Charles' "America the Beautiful" on their sign-offs.

Not by WOR-TV - at least not in the 1970's when the Mormons "SSB" was run, possibly also the Aim High "SSB" in the 1980's. Unless they ran the Army "SSB" in the 1960's.

FYI: This SSB version was also used in all of RKO General's TV stations.

WNEV Signed off. The cable operator would still run 'Nightwatch with Charlie Rose' overnight.

Did WNEV sign off just on Friday & Saturday Nights while Nightwatch was running during the rest of the week?

This particular rendition of the "SSB" by the U.S. Army Band is perhaps my favorite of all of 'em. I've seen about four different edits with this version - this one; a variant seen on WPIX in New York; another that was used on a couple of North Dakota TV stations; and yet another that was used by some other stations including KBIM in Albuquerque, NM.
