Yep...KPRC copied the station slogan/name "NEWSPLEX" and the newsroom even looked similar to Channel 7's FIRST newsplex in the early 1990's

Shepard first reported at WJHG-TV Channel 7 in Panama City, Florida in the 80's as a "one person band". That's when reporter's shoot & edit there own material.
