There are so many haters out there on Beyonce. She, along with the movie Cadillac Records are getting great reviews. It was only 35 years ago that Diana Ross took on the role of Billie Holiday at the time & she received the same backlash, that she had no soul & she could never pull off Billie. She ended up receiving an Academy Award Nomination. People should view the movie 1st before being so negative.

There's no doubt this girl can sing. Her voice is amazing, but yo, she is doing way too much. Riffs and holding notes are always good, especially when you can blow like Christina, but that doesn't mean that too much of a good thing can't get kinda fuckin annoying. I'm not gonna say Beyonce does a WAY better job at this song, but she does it proper justice. PLUS everyone trying to hate on Beyonce playing Etta James, shut the fuck up for a min. Wait til you see the movie, then, make your decision.

i think christina is great, but honestly killed the songwith the too many riffs,beyonce did a better job, stuck to the song.kept it nice.

Oh of course Hofffan. If I thought that about Christina I would not have said that she has a good voice. I know that she can just 'sing' from her earlier hits (Genie in a Bottle, What a Girl Wants) but, in my opinion, when she's live she tends to over-riff and do 'vocal acrobats' as if she NEEDS to in order to gain praise. Yes divas riff and scream (on their own songs) yet they know when to stop. Especially in a ballad like this one. Plus this wasn't her song to over-do.

Fayme20 and datdude717, both of you go listen to Christina's version of I Love You Porgy. The girl can just 'sing' if she wanted to. She just riffs because she can. She does alot of stuff because she can. All the divas riff and scream because they can.
