thank you! states rights! people need a history book.. i also believe that states need way more authority, my state has a way better grasp on the needs of my states people than the federal government ever would... and we have a total of 12 people that "represent" us - me? i didnt vote for either of my senators but i did vote for my district rep in the house. our gov is getting to big and they are going to step on our heads and our rights... CUT THEM DOWN AT THE KNEES!

Yeah it really was. Here in South Texas it is a common term though. Haha I guess all of our words are black. And btw please let me say there is a difference between "black" and "nigger". I have no problem with blacks. Just niggers.

it's still a very stupid thing to say, especially since all you can see of him is what he writes, and believe me when I say that your letters are black too.

no ignorant people like you say the civil war was all about slavery. slavery was one little issue tied into the bigger issue they were fighting over. the real issue was states rights. the south thought a weak national gov with strong state gov's was the best way to go. i love dixie and the south but that dosent mean im racist and still want to fight the civil war. your ignorant and sterotyping all people in the south.read a history book before you open your mouth

The War wasn't about slavery. It was mainly about states' rights - the South hated how the federal government seemed to be encroaching on its rights. And most Southern whites couldn't read, and relied on what their preachers told them from the Bible. Oftentimes, unfortunately, those preachers were misled.

Rather, Dixie knew well that if Lincoln were removed, "reconstruction" would be hell - the "Great Emancipator" was all for lovingly reaccepting the Rebel states into the Union. Booth was a maniac, unappreciated by both sides.
