I agree Kevin, especially if you listen to CL's interpretation of Chopin's No. 2.

i agree, dont get me wrong, shes on my favs doing the same concerto, but yes she is better:)

This is definitely better than Ayako Uehara's (of Japan) performance. But let's all wait for Aimi Kobayashi (of Japan) and Aristo Sham (of Hong Kong) to play this same piece.

I do like Miss Licad interpretation of this concerto. She plays it with passion and grandeur, and she has a lot of imagination. Martha Argerich plays also this masterpiece with great style and beautiful tonal shading and puts as much emotion and color in her playing(see her with Dutoit on YouTube).

I agree! as much as i do love the sound of Martha's playing, it is deceiving how much effort she is putting forth. the effortless of Martha does make it seem very almost cavalier, making the listener unsure if she is actually into it emotionally or not...seeing a musician's effort connects more to the listener

totally agree Kevin.

CL is a master colorist of sound, and she seems to work very hard to achieve such effects. Martha Argerich, on the other hand, seems to treat her music-making as "no big deal", does not work nearly as hard at imparting emotion and color to her playing, thus her playing is very fast, easy-going and looks quite effortless; however, it lacks the variation in color and emotion that makes music-making quite the interesting art that it should be.
