This "journalist" also acts as if the Art Community on Halsted was some new development though it predates everyone he interviewed. The changing face of Pilsen? It has never stopped changing. Who this neighborhood is for? Whomever chooses to live here. Pilsen is an American neighborhood in the city of Chicago in the United States of America. Thankfully in our country everyone can live wherever they want and if they choose to live in Pilsen that isn't news, it just is.

This "journalist" didn't interview a single old timer. He takes the opinion of a Latino Hipster who has lived here all of 6 years as if he is a pillar of the community. This is typical. Often outsiders think that Latinos somehow have a right to this community instead of having the right to live here like everyone else including oldtimers like myself who aren't Mexican as well as Americans of every stripe.

Very true, pretty soon all the CULTURE that was brought will be replaced by what?...Bland, cookie-cutter nothing-ness!
