Scott Hull uses a Jackson custom shop soloist 7 string guitar with a single EMG 81 in the bridge (I think), mahogany body, through neck, ebony fretboard. For his rig he uses customized Crate GTX3500H Head including parts from a Ampeg vh-140. You can apparently get a similiar tone with a Crate GT3500H (350 watt head). You're right, he is fucking amazing.Have you heard many other guitar only grind bands ie Discordance Axis, Agents of Abhorrence?
