Even back then, Cher created scandal. That was a LOT of skin to show back then on prime time TV. The Sonny & Cher Show and Flip Wilson cross-dressing as his Geraldine character. Geraldine had a boyfriend named "Killer" and was absolutely hilarious TV. OH!! Don't forget the antics of Archie Bunker. The writers spurred controversy and many hot topics of race, religion and politics. "Those Were The Days" of REAL TV. Shows like these were heavily protested in the southern 'Bible Belt'.
