ok so angela has her faults but don't we all? She's such an exciting singer and performer to watch.

Ok, WOW! I am usually not the biggest fan of Angela's voice becuase I thinkt it's often overly dark and hollow sounding and though she does overblow the top notes a bit, it's kind of exciting in the context of this aria. Love it!

lol:) j'aime le fait d'avoir être contredit . j'aime beaucoup les deux chanteuses. avec un plus pour angela, c'est ma compatriote.

If you take 'divine' to be a metaphor, then I disagree - Angela is divine as well (at least in this role). If you take 'divine' literally I disagree in both cases :) Both Callas & Angela are human beings :).

of course she is better than callas. here:) she is not perfect like her, maybe nor divine... is only human

I would agree if this were a recital performance, but it's not. It's in the context of the production, and in my opinion, when a performer breaks out of character as she did in this context, the magic of being transported into another world is lost. As an audience member, I would feel robbed of this opportunity. It's not common practise for a singer to bow after an aria in the middle of an opera for this very reason. |
