Rubinstein (born 1887) was 88 years old at the time of this recording (April 1975). He finally retired from concertizing in 1976 (89 years old), since his eyesight was failing.

Stupendous permance by the legendary maestrohimself. Besides his extraordiny talents..., the one thing he does that impresses me the most is that he played the entire piece by rote.A very complex/daunting piano piece composed by one of the great talents of his time. Even Franz Liszt was impressed by his technique.
