You'll also notice that on the Daily Show, they assume the audience already knows each story. Sometimes they'll go into a bit of detail to get the point across. But overall, they're there to tell a joke and poke fun at everyone.

I heard about this as though it was a staunch criticizm of sensationalistic news shows. Watching it though, Jon seems to just sit there and talk about how bad it is, without actually pointing to the things that make it bad. At least that schmuck Carlson had a little evidence, Jon really offered nothing except "It's all theater". I think he should have actually proposed the points that MAKE the show a sensationalistic POS.It's also strange that neither guy ever said "What makes this show bad?"
