OMG I love love love this song! I have the Celtic Tides CD that this is on and whenever I go over to my friend Maddy's house we always preform our work out routiene that her little Bro made up... he even attemps to sing a long! But anyways, this song and music vid are amazing!

I'm not disputing the name of the instrument! I play violin,too and called it a violin simply out of preference. I suppose MacIsaac calls it a fiddle.

A violin and fiddle are the same instrument it just depends on what tune you happen to be playing on it at the time. I play the violin/fiddle. If you're playing a minuet, waltz, ballroom music, or anything like that it's referred to as a violin, if you're playing jigs, dance songs, then people call it a fiddle. There is however a 5 stringed violin of which I haven't played on as of yet. |
