Tchaikowsky's "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" from the Nutcracker (1892). Originally composed for celesta (a keyboard bell-like instrument), William Zeitler plays it on the glass armonica invented by Benjamin Franklin.

They stay wet enough for a long time--even a whole song (depending on the song). You need very little wetness to play.

I must admit I don't like the way he plays it but it just sounds wonderful. Before you flame me all I'm saying is that I wish I could hear other glass harmonica players, I'm sure there is a lot of ways in which this piece can be interpreted, and I felt some notes should be longer while other shorter. Anyway he is a great player and it does sound good, but I still would love to hear another opinion... Thank you for posting this little jewel !

there's actually a celesta that uses glass rods instead of steel ones. called a glasschord. Seriously there are a group of instruments called crystallophones.
