Jascha Heifetz plays Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35: I. Allegro moderato*NOTE: This was from a movie, so Heifetz skips a LOT of the first movement due to time constraints. He skips nearly half of the piece, and so does the orchestra. So please don't ask for second or third movements because I do not have them. You also get to see a bit of Heifetz acting at the end. A great treat!Conductor: Fritz ReinerThis is my favorite rendition of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto. I think Heifetz played a bit faster than in his recording.

From 5.12 to 5.19... The version I'm use to, also played by Heifetz, is a little bit different... that is strange!!

Tchaikovsky is a communist and a homosexual. I love rap music.

agreed...but i finally decided that it would be best not to think of it as "is heifetz's or oistrakh's tchaikovsky better" but rather I look at both and enjoy them both for what they both are-absolute masterpieces of music to be treasured and enjoyed :)

i think it's the video quality. :PHeifetz was a really good player though. This is post romantic music, you might be intrested in baroque or classical music.

no:P i mean they all create their own emotion at the cadenza, by picking their pressure of bow, bow speed, shiftings, etc, but they are still playing what is written, just adding a little personal emotion. Had it be improvising a piece never heard, they would probably probably play all the dynamics backwards, bowing backwards, different shiftings, but nonetheless, all music is real music. :D i hope i cleared it for you.

Sorry, I'm very confused by what you are saying here. Are you actually suggesting that Heifetz, Fritz Reiner, and the orchestra are improvising?

Incredible stuff

It goes without saying that Tchaikovsky did a great composition. I guess it also goes without saying that Heifetz did a great interpretation.
