The arabic sword and crescent are just symbols of the city and country of mecca. The thing about the shrine is that is it is newest division of masonry and it really doesnt have any specific symbolism like masonry, scottish rite or york rite. Honestly, the whole thing is about helping children that cant help themselves and having a goodtime while doing it. It is such a rewarding feeling.

Let me tell you something. There are 2 types of lodges AF&AM(ancient free and excepted masons) and there is F&AM(free and excepted masons). Now for the most part, all this says is if a lodge is mostly black or white but that is about to be changed soon. I asked the head of my lodge if someone came to the lodge and professed lucifer as their higher power would they be accepted. He responded back to me by saying they would even make it through the threahhold,because you must believe in purity.
