Ciceley Tsyon. Diana Ross. Dorothy Dandridge. Angela Bassett. Lena Horn. Whoopi GoldbergGorgeous Black Women who gave heart wrenching BRILLIANT performances and were denied their moment time and time again no matter how far above the competition they rose.In 2001, Halle Berry's Oscar win signified the end of an era. That anyone, from anywhere, any colour, could rise to the top. And for that, I wept like a baby, because it means...for all of us everywhere, we can really do anything.

You don't get it, Hollywood doesn't want to give black actresses credit where it's due. So yes THEY act like it's against the law she is not being dramatic.....she's being real!

This is all so overblown as are all these awards. For crying out loud, she did her job and got some recognition. She didn't cure cancer, reinvent the wheel, or figure out how to install world peace. Priorities are way out of whack.

the race issue aside (if that's possible)I thought she was unconvincing in this role.it was a difficult character to play and her acting skills were not up top the job. |
