Frank Zappa on Crossfire (1987) - Part I

Most of us have seen the earlier one of Zappa on CNNs "Crossfire" from 1986. This is a follow up clip recorded sometime in July (I think) 1987.This follow up video deals with the whole "ratings" system BS. This one is hosted by Peter Gemma & Michael Kinsley. Guests are Frank Zappa and the PMRC toadie Jeff Ling. Believe it or not, one of the BS questions was "Does rock music cause AIDS".Frank Zappa's views on censorship weren't "ahead for his times" actually - but more in line with old "classic liberalism" [or what we in the late 20th century know it as: "libertarianism"].I hope y'all enjoy this clip as much as I did. Don't forget to see Part - II as well -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

The problem is the PMRC.Who are they to tell me what to listen to or not.Censorship is fascism. Controlling information in the nname of safety, when the true agenda is control. The PMRC is saying off-handedly that people are stupid, because they cannot be individually responsible, and that people need the PMRC to hold their hands when they cross the street.Gimme a fucking break. FUCK the PMRC and their fucking fascism. Fucking religous nuts.

Wow, Zappa looks so calm and composed. I like his brief answers too, they're very "to the point"...yet not exactly direct at the same time.

I like the fact the host was puttin those conservative uptight fucksticks on blast ........ when he asks about actual documented study findings that revealed there was a correlation between sex and rock music as well as rock music and aids ......... the putz getting asked the question just starts to studder ..... because ........... ummmm yeah ... no such study exists ....... stop fucking blaming music and start blaming parents that dont take an active interest in their kids lives .

FZ's superior intellect is so obvious. The more I see of him the more impressed I am. Gosh, I wish he was still alive!

Ugh. I had to turn the volume almost all the way down, in order to avoid having a meltdown. The sound of those obnoxious conservative political blowhards incessantly yelling over each other like that, is like nails on chalkboard!

HAHA! He's worried about a majority being in charge, claiming what morality should be for the country. We already have that! It's the Christian Corporate Fascist Theocracy we are heading towards that Frank is on about all the time!

it's like Fox shows today. The guest is invited on to be fought by three cocky people who support conservatism. It's not a balanced show if the guy who makes sense is a minority.
