Outstanding start to this match-Adonis & Murdoch were working really hard here. I wonder if Inoki had a clause in his contract where he didn't have to be the face in peril?

Yeah!!! Goodnight Irene" Adonis was the shit

Is there any footage of Adonis applying his finishing sleeper hold that he called "Goodnight, Irene"?

Back in the real early 80's Adrian Adonis was the best technical wrestler I had ever seen. Fast and moves that I'd never seen.

yea Adonis was a great worker and one of the top heels that showed or promoters let really wrestle in the ring. I remember back in 82 in the WWF he worked this guys arm over so bad on TV it was actually all twisted up it looked sick, that was defintely not "work".

i agree with your assessement about Adonis and Murdock, I remember when they came to the WWF and won the belts, they were tough as nailz and brought the old NWA tough style wrestling up north. They did face the Road Warriors back in 85 in the AWA and Japan, wish someone had that match.

Adonis and Murdoch could believably absorb punishment from the face teams of the day and yet manage to pull a win out of nowhere. Really a fun team to watch back in the day...

Both Adonis and Murdoch were one of the forgoten great tag teams. They didn't have weightlifters physiques, but boy did they work well together. Both men could scientifically wrestle or brawl. Not too many tag teams could do that. I would've liked to see them against The Road Warriors back in 84. They would've carved LOD!
