I don't think thats a Hofner, I once owned a Hofner bass and the body looks pretty wide on this guitar wheras the Hofner is thin. Also, Hofner's don't have F-holes (except for their guitars like the Verythin, or the President and such). Finally if this was a converted Violin bass it should have a large squarish whole where the control plate was. Yes it could've been filled but I still think this was probably a custom guitar with an Ibanez neck, and not a converted Hofner.

thats not the pgm series ibanez its a mod'd hofner bass body and an ibanez knecklisten how fat the lows are its a basswood body you cant buy this guitar stock like thatjust an fyi
