Although I like Bono's political commentary on the war in Iraq, I just want to clarify that it is a political commentary. What he is singing is most certainly not a translation. The first phrases are "Ave Maria Gratia Plena" mean "Hail Mary Full of Grace." Just thought I would clarify. :)

No, he did turn it into a political song because what Bono is singing is not in any of the other version. Trust me, I know. and actually, Pavarotti sang in Spanish, Italian, English, etc. I don't speak french and I still sing some songs in French! S, Bono sucks for turning a prayer into a political song!

what a mostly important and enlightning statemant. when you go the gasoline station, do you say: "texaco please, but I drink coffee"? you might have said: "great per...though I listen to metallica. "but" erases all your reason to post a comment in the beginning. cause you only use the space to expoes yourself.

I love this song and I love both Pavarotti and Bono singing it!

He is so bad that he is singing 'Ave Maria' with Pavarotti.
