Hyde's character is Gackt's character's FATHER (though not biological). The scene where Gackt cries is a father comforting his son (maybe with a bit of guilt since he actually caused the tears). The big thing here being that Hyde's character is immortal and so looks more the same age as Gackt in that scene, but he took care of him since childhood. I really don't see how any one sees gay - the tender moments are very obviously the love of a father for his child.
