I love this song. I have only recently discovered or maybe re-discovered Lyle and his music. So many people make disgusted faces when I tell them I like Lyle Lovett. I think they don't really get it.

If you're going to try to be some kind of musical snob at least know what you're talking about. On this side of the pond, chap, there is a tradition of song writing in Texas from the likes of Townes Van Zandt and Steve Earl to name a few. As far as you coming over to the states... No one invited you Lucky Charms. Fuck, at least Bono gets it!
