Dubravka Tomšič Srebotnjak is the best pianist on this piece

Energetic, very competent player, but musically ordinary & sometimes careless,(many slips in simpler moments),superficial sound verging on the ugly. All those comparisons w Martha...what a larf; it's the difference between a tigress & a truck driver...

BRAVO!

Fantastic performance of this 3rd movement - very rhythmical playing. Technical precision and virtuosity abound in Ms. Licad's playing of this concerto. The bravos speak for themselves.

It's Picazo, not Picasso. It's Juilliard, not Julliard. It's Curtis, not Juilliard.

Don't fret 24karatbrain about laqin007 comments coz as he said this is just the first time s/he heard about licad's playing and he's entitled to his own opinion. Licad is one of philippine's most brilliant artists. Studied under Ms. Picasso one of the most brilliant piano teachers in Asia and she's a prodigy of Ms. Imelda Marcos. Licad went to Julliard for her Masters etc. Then she became one of the greatest of all time. She's a recepient of Leventrit Award. So I guess you know by now?

Amazing performance from Cecile! Yes...this put that stupid awestruck grin on my face and the final octaves and fire breathing ending made me laugh out loud--that's how I react to such a great performance. Sir Georg was doing it up good too! |
